Activists Urge Government, Donors to Fund Women Empowerment Women’s rights activists have urged Cambodia and donor countries to allocate enough budgets to finance gender equality and women's empowerment within the next 15 years. Cambodia has failed to achieve its Millennium Development Goal on increasing the proportion of women in the legislature to 30 percent by 2015. Activists said it was partly because of the lack of budget. VOA Khmer Men Kimseng interviews Ros Sopheap, executive director of Gender and Development for Cambodia, while she was in Washington, D.C.
