Cambodia Opposition Leader Optimistic With Culture of Dialogue And New NEC
Opposition leader Sam Rainsy said Cambodia is at a political turning point where politicians have to adopt the “culture of dialogue.” This will ensure that safety, dignity, and freedom of expression of all politicians be protected. Sam Rainsy believes that there should not be any harassment, intimidation, threat of imprisonment, and assassination just because politicians have different opinions. “This culture of killings each other must be stopped and we have to adopt a new culture which is the culture of dialogue because it’s peaceful and truly democratic,” he said. Sam Rainsy is in the US to meet his supporters and US officials. VOA Khmer Men Kimseng interviews him while he is Washington DC.
