Cambodian consular general marked Cambodia’s Independence Day for the first time in Long Beach, CA. on November 9. Long Beach is home to more than 60,000 Cambodian Americans who have settled down after the fall of the Khmer Rouge regime in 1979. VOA’s Men Kimseng reports from Long Beach that the celebration aimed to promote cultural awareness, tourism to Cambodia and trade between the US and Cambodia.
