PHNOM PENH —
The Permanent Committee of the National Assembly on Monday accepted three draft laws on judicial reform, which it will review before debate.
Lawmaker Cheam Yiep told VOA Khmer the committee’s legal experts will look at the laws, but he could not say when they would move forward.
Legal NGOs have urged the National Assembly to allow input from civil society.
But Cheam Yiep said experts have been consulted and now the laws must be debated before passage.
