The Cambodian-American Heritage group, which has worked around Washington to preserve Khmer culture, has been awarded a medal from the Cambodian government. They were given the award at a ceremony in Arlington, Virginia, on Saturday, in an event that included Khmer classical dance and music. Samroeum Tes, head of the organization, said the group had overcome a difficult start but had grown with support from the National Endowment for the Arts. “The award reflects the hard work of us all,” he said.
