Washington Economist: 2016 Budget Fails to Cut Nation's Debt

An independent economic think tank says the U.S. President Barack Obama's proposed federal budget comes with good intentions but does too little to cut the nation's rising debt. Aside from the budget's somewhat optimistic assumptions, the Committee for Economic Research says the president's proposals are sound. But as VOA's Mil Arcega reports, Washington's partisan atmosphere might make the plan unrealistic.
