The dispute between tech giant Apple and the FBI over the US Government demands to unlock a terrorist’s iPhone requires a multi-stakeholder “win-win” approach - including public debates, said Chap Chetra, a doctorate student in mass communication at Ohio University. In a TV interview with VOA Khmer’s Soeung Sophat in Washington, Chap Chetra said controversy has consequences beyond the specific legal case and the United States. Cambodians, he said, should use the US case to learn about personal data protection and privacy as the country is experiencing rapid growth in the use of smartphones.
