Burma once had what some consider the best universities in East Asia. But years of mismanagement and a disastrous nationalization process has left the education system in such shambles, that students who can, leave the country for better education opportunities. Opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi has made it a priority, since entering parliament, to restore Burmese schools to their former glory. VOA News reports from Rangoon on how a new attitude towards learning has emerged among policymakers.
