Cancer takes a toll not only on the body, but also on the psyche. At a beauty salon inside a Baltimore cancer center, patients who have lost their hair to chemotherapy, experienced changes to their skin or had mastectomies receive services that aim to restore their image. Hair and make-up might seem like superficial concerns but, experts say, these things could have a positive impact on patients. VOA’s June Soh visited the Image Recovery Center at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
