Phnom Penh Municipal Court on Wednesday postponed a hearing for an opposition senator accused of incitement, due to technical difficulties downloading documents from the Internet.

The senator, Hong Sok Hour, a member of the Cambodia National Rescue Party, is accused of posting false information on social media regarding Cambodia’s border treaty with Vietnam.

The delay came just one hour into the hearing, with no new date scheduled, after court officials failed to download documents to build their case.

Defense lawyer Choung Choungy told reporters after the hearing that its postponement was an irregular procedure and came suddenly, as he began to show evidence to bolster his defense.
